A Message to our Patients on our
Coronavirus/COVID-19 Preparedness Plan
We are committed to providing excellent care to our patients while also considering the health and safety of our patients, physicians, and staff. We understand the fear and concern surrounding the new COVID-19 virus, but want to assure you that we are taking the necessary steps to continue providing the highest level of care. Our response will actively adapt as the situation evolves regarding this global pandemic.
Patients with upcoming appointments
❖ Please allow only one caregiver to accompany patients currently to minimize exposure. We will be screening every patient at check-in to identify and limit potential exposure to COVID-19.
❖ Please reschedule to a later date if you have traveled internationally, traveled on a cruise ship, traveled to a high risk area such as New York, Washington State, or certain areas of Colorado, which you should observe a 14-day quarantine or if you have had a known exposure to COVID-19, or are experiencing any of these symptoms of COVID-19:
► Shortness of breath
❖ We are still actively seeing appointments as usual for all but those at higher risk or possibly infected with COVID-19.
Note to Our Higher-Risk Patients
We want to safeguard the most vulnerable-the elderly, those with cancer, heart disease and lung issues, kidney disease, organ transplants, immune deficiency or those on medication that weakens their immune system.
Elderly and higher risk patients should consider changing non-urgent visits to a later date or consider a telehealth visit with their provider.
❖ We are employing frequent environmental cleaning nightly and also between every patient visit to protect all from this virus.
❖ We are continuing to keep all employees updated and educated to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and providing masks, gloves, and other personal protective equipment.
❖ We are encouraging sick employees to stay home and for all employees to be alert for the signs and symptoms-fever, cough, and shortness of breath.
❖ All are practicing frequent handwashing in our clinic.
❖ We are actively attempting to keep those who might have signs of COVID-19 or been exposed either at home, or in more respiratory distress, such as difficulty breathing, directed to an emergency room.
❖ We are handling many minor illnesses without having to come in, through telehealth visits, as well for those who do not wish to come into the office.
During this COVID-19 threat, we are emphasizing to stay at home when sick. Social distancing from groups of people and staying home other than necessary trips out such as to the grocery store, clinic, or pharmacy are ways to prevent this virus. Practice good hand washing and avoiding touching your face. If soap and hot water are not available, use hand sanitizer with greater than 60% alcohol content.
Here to Help
The health, safety, and wellbeing of our patients and employees are of paramount importance. We will continue to monitor information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (www.cdc.gov) and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment as it emerges in this rapidly changing situation. We are here to help you navigate questions during this COVID-19 outbreak and beyond. We will get through this unprecedented time together!
